A system for libraries to create and promote their events as well as manage registration and waitlist.
This was a redesign of our legacy date/time picker staff use to select the dates and times for their events.
For this project we set out to create a picker that would allow library staff to select date and time patterns that better suited the types of the recurring events that they would often seek to create.
For this project I did market research on event creating best practices, gathered client feedback, documented common recurrence patterns, and then created the designs with documented detail for numerous different workflows and use cases.
Adding waitlist functionality to the events platform provides a way for users to express interest in an event even after the event has reached capacity.
This allows interested users a better chance to attend the event, but also gives staff a better idea how much interest there is around the event which can help guide budget allowance and frequency.
For the interface, it was important to make the workflow easy for staff to manage. We held interviews with our clients to better understand their needs and performed a market analysis of different waitlist platforms to figure out a lightweight solution.
The mockups included detailed workflows for both staff and users.
There are several emails that users will receive when they register for an event. Confirmation emails, cancellations, waitlist notifications, etc.
The below designs are event reminders and they were designed with to utilize library branding while still following design patterns set for in our company-wide design system.
